Former Liverpool and Newcastle defender Jose Enrique thinks that striker Mo Salah will leave Anfield at the end of the season.
Salah was reportedly close to a move to the Saudi Pro League in the summer but ultimately stayed, and he could be in line for another Premier League title as Jurgen Klopp’s men top the table.
However, with Klopp announcing his departure at the end of the season, Enrique told Grosvenor Sport that the signs are pointing towards the exit for the Egyptian as well.
“I think Mohamed Salah will be off to Saudi Arabia this summer,” he said. “I thought he was quite close to leaving last summer.
"The reality is that these days, clubs make an offer to your club for you if you’ve agreed something with them beforehand. They want to know if you’re happy to join beforehand, so there must have been some groundwork on the deal already.
“With Jurgen Klopp leaving as well, now is the perfect time to leave – he’s won every single trophy and become one of the top goal scorers in the Premier League and for Liverpool, so the time would be right for him to change. If he moves to Saudi Arabia, he will [be] bigger than Cristiano Ronaldo there.
"I will be surprised if he continues at Liverpool next season. I’d love to see him in the Premier League for a few more years, but I think he will leave.”
