Red Devils face injury woes at the back.
Lee Sharpe has shared sympathy for his old club, Manchester United, and their persistent injury issues in the centre-half position.

Last season, Erik ten Hag had to endure a number of long-term layoffs in his central defensive options, prompting the club to sign young French defender Lenny Yoro this summer.

However, the teenager has been the latest centre-back to face time on the sidelines through injury after he broke down during pre-season.

Sharpe told Highest Payout Online Casino that he feels sorry for Yoro but is pleased the club has been unable to secure the services of Mattijs de Ligt in that position.

He said: “It’s mental, you buy a centre half because all your others are injured all season, and then Leny Yoro goes and gets injured in one of his first games! I’m surprised any centre half wants to sign for Man United at the moment, it seems to be a jinxed position!

“It’s a shame for him because the last thing you want to do is get injured when you join a new club. He’ll be on a different timescale to the rest of the team, it’s essential to bond and become part of the team with the lads.

“He’ll be getting treatment whilst the first team is training so it might make things a bit slower. Obviously, he got injured during preseason, so these next few months are vital in bringing him up to speed for when he does come back. If it works out, and he comes back in October, it could feel like a new signing again.

“It’s nice to know they’ve now got Matthijs de Ligt under their belts as a strengthener, but it’s a real shame for Yoro, I really feel for him. That said, he is a long term player, and in three months’ time I reckon after a few games back everyone will have forgotten he was even injured.”
