He criticised the veteran.

Lee Sharpe believes that former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro’s time is up at Manchester United and he will be moved on in the summer.

The 32-year-old impressed for United in his first season after joining in the summer of 2022, but this season injuries and poor form have perhaps betrayed his advancing years.

Speaking to BetVictor, former United winger Sharpe thinks that he is no longer able to keep up with the demands of English football.

“I liked Casemiro when he first came in, I thought he was a class act,” said Sharpe.

“He broke things down very well and was alive in the middle of the pitch to start attacks with one or two touches.

“But I think his legs have gone now and he can’t deal with the pace of the Premier League. He can’t get around the pitch anymore and he isn’t arriving to situations at the right time. He is getting caught in possession and his passing isn’t as accurate anymore.

“I would be surprised if he’s still at United next season. I think it is time for some fresh legs and energy in the middle of the pitch.”
