Andy Cole believes that Manchester United would be happy to settle for a point against Everton on Sunday.
United travel to Goodison Park for their first game after the international break, and will be aiming to claim all three points to give a boost to Erik ten Hag as their Premier League campaign threatens to be over before it really started.
United cannot go higher than sixth place but a win would knock their confidence and with Jim Ratcliffe preparing to make changes as a co-owner, it would invite pressure on the Dutchman.
For Everton, the situation is even more dire. They are 19th after a points deduction due to their precarious financial situation.
Cole believes that because of the emotional state that Everton will find themselves in, the away side will in fact be content with just a draw.
Speaking tp Betfred , he predicted a difficult match-up between the pair.
He said: “Everton will be absolutely devastated that they were deducted ten points, but they’re in good form and Sean Dyche has got them going.
“Manchester United have been very unpredictable so far and if they can come away from the game with a draw, then that would be a good result in my opinion.”
