It all comes down to this.

While Wednesday's top-of-the-table clash between Manchester City and Arsenal won't officially decide this season's Premier League champions, it will have a massive influence on a thrilling title race that is coming down to the wire.

The Sky Blues are five points back of the league-leading Gunners, but City have played two fewer matches. That means a victory for Pep Guardiola's side will give them direct control over their own fate as they would simply need to keep pace with Arsenal and win one of their two games in hand (or draw both).

Meanwhile, Arsenal have come down from a commanding lead to their current tenuous situation thanks to three straight draws that included two blown 2-0 leads. The north London side now face the daunting task of heading to Etihad Stadium in need of a win over a team that they've not beaten in their last 14 tries.

Thanks to their failure to win over the past three league matches, the Gunners now have to ignore the growing noise about the title now being City's to lose, said manager Mikel Arteta.

"We’ve been doing that for the last nine or 10 months," he said. "Focus on what we can do, don’t get dragged out whether it is extremely positive or extremely negative, and be stable in our thoughts and in our process and be our best."
