Dimitar Berbatov has hinted that Manchester United should sign a replacement for midfielder Casemiro. The decorated Brazilian suffered a hamstring injury in early November and is out until after the New Year.
Casemiro's absence is a blow for Erik Ten Hag and Manchester United. An experienced winner, Casemiro is often seen as the link between the defence and attack.
Speaking to Betfair, Dimitar Berbatov suggested that the Red Devils could make a move in the January transfer window. He said, "In the second season, you start to struggle and get injured. When you try to get fit, the team will probably look for someone else to come in and help.
"So, you’re going to have competition for your place when you’re back fit, so the situation gets trickier."
With Casemiro now into his 30s, Manchester United could search for a long-term replacement, especially if Casemiro's injuries start piling up.
