Manchester United start the new year with a match at Old Trafford against Bournemouth on Tuesday, and the Red Devils are in a great position to move into third place on the Premier League table by the end of the day.
United head into the match in fourth, but a slip-up by Newcastle earlier in the day at league-leading Arsenal will create an opportunity for Erik ten Hag's men to leapfrog the Magpies into the top three. They'll need to keep their hot form going — United are on a three-match league winning streak (they've won five straight in all competitions).
They face a Bournemouth side that have struggled all season long, with the Cherries having lost their last two league matches and dropping to 15th in the standings.
While United will respect their opposition, Ten Hag wants his team to focus more on themselves. It's what helped them overcome a dour start against Wolves on New Year's Eve that ended in a 1-0 United victory.
"I saw a different approach in the second half and it was more investment," the United manager said, "there was more focus, more aggression, we had better organisation in the second half and I think we created even more chances and I think the win was also well deserved."
