Two Premier League teams battling for European football next season, Manchester United and West Ham United, meet at Old Trafford on Sunday.
United snatched a last minute winner on Thursday night when they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-3, while West Ham could only muster a 1-1 draw against a resurgent Bournemouth.
West Ham, who currently occupy sixth place, are one point ahead of United and a win for either side could prove crucial in the race for a European campaign in 2024/25.
Speaking to BetVictor, former West Ham manager Harry Redknapp predicted a 1-1 draw for this match and explained why one player could prove the difference for the Hammers.
"Big game for both sides here. United have obviously been so up and down this season that I don’t know what to expect from them here. I know they’ve got a bit of uncertainty going on behind the scenes, but I’m surprised they were so quiet during the transfer window," Redknapp said.
"Likewise with West Ham. I thought another forward would have been right at the top of David Moyes' wishlist but it didn’t happen. That being said, Kalvin Phillips could be a very good addition to this squad.
"The Hammers beat them at home and will like their chances at Old Trafford. I’m leading towards a 1-1 draw.
"Back in Manchester, these are the sort of games that Kalvin Phillips was brought in to be the difference in."
Phillips joined West Ham on loan last month after failing to secure regular playing time at Manchester City following his £45m pound from Leeds United in July 2022.
