He gave his opinion on the striker's future.

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes that Mohamed Salah will leave the club this summer.

The Egyptian striker was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League last summer and subject of reported big-money bids, but ultimately he remained at Anfield.

The club failed to win any silverware in Jurgen Klopp’s final season with the club, and there were signs of frustration between the German and Salah in the last few games of the season.

That has led to speculation that he will follow Klopp out the door this summer, with the Saudi Pro League still expected to be his destination.

With new manager Arne Slot on his way to take over, it may be the time to make a clean break.

Speaking to Best Online Poker Sites, Lawrenson said he thought he would be moving on soon.

“I have a feeling that Mohamed Salah will go,” he said.

“I just think that Saudi Arabia would be the logical place for him to move to. He’s not been the same since he came back from AFCON and you could see towards the end of the season that he seemed a little bit miffed – he just didn’t seem to be the same player.

“If Liverpool could get £100m for him from the Saudi Pro League, I think I would take it considering the circumstances. Salah’s been absolutely brilliant for Liverpool over the years, but he looks like he might need a change of club and I personally wouldn’t get in the way of that out of respect for him.”
