Former coach heaps praise on current West Ham stars.

Mark Warburton believes any coach would be lucky to work at West Ham and claims they have some of the best players in the league.

Warburton was the first-team coach at the London Stadium last season and worked under David Moyes as the club triumphed in the Europa Conference League.

Talking on the William Hill and Footy Accumulators’ podcast, No Tippy Tappy Football, the former QPR and Rangers boss cited West Ham as the perfect place for a coach to work and singled out three players of the first-team squad that be believes are as good as it gets in the Premier League.

“West Ham is a big club with a massive fanbase and great away support,” he said.

“It has enormous potential as a club, so what a fantastic opportunity it would be for any coach.

“Any coach in the world should look at that job with eager anticipation and think of it as a great opportunity. The squad that David and his staff have assembled can rival many in the world. There aren’t many better in the league than Kudus, Paqueta and Bowen. With some more good recruitment, they’ll be in a great place.”

Despite winning a European trophy last year, David Moyes is under pressure following a string of poor performances from his West Ham side. They've have been calls from fans for Moyes to be sacked, but Warburton has questioned what more Hammers fans could want and understands why the boo-boys have angered the current boss.

Adding, “I think the criticism of David Moyes at West Ham comes down to the fact that his style of play has always been so outstandingly solid and compact. When you start signing players like Paqueta and Kudus, the fanbase’s expectation changes and they expect the team to play a different style of football. Now they want to go out and beat Barcelona and Real Madrid because of who they’ve signed.

“They’re in Europe now and they’re qualifying for those competitions consistently. This is their third year running in a European competition and they’ve got a title to their name now. They’re consistently in the top 10 and I emphasise that because in the last 10 years their average position is 10th, so be careful what you wish for West Ham fans.

“I think David Moyes is angry and in my opinion he has every right to be when you look at how much he has given the club. He has every right to be angry and if he is to leave West Ham, then I hope it is of his own volition."
