Most Premier League teams expect to defeat Sheffield United when they face the Blades this season.

Sheffield United are dead last in the league with just two wins to their credit so far, but Chelsea were finding it difficult to score against the beleaguered side in the first half of their match on Saturday.

Looking for a catalyst, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino switched things up at half-time in order to give his side a different look in attack, and the change worked as Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson scored early in the second frame to put the match out of reach.

"I’m very pleased," Pochettino told BBC Match of the Day. "The performance was good. It’s always good against a team who play aggressively with a low block.

"In the second half we changed the position of Palmer and Raheem Sterling, we tried to put Palmer and [Mykhailo] Mudryk in a better position in front of goal.

"I’m confident, even when we lose. I really believe in the players and the club. Now it’s about to use that in the next competition in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup."
