Familiar foes Mexico and Costa Rica meet Saturday in a 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup quarter-final match.
The teams have met 57 times before, with the Mexicans winning 31 of those matches and losing just six times. However, the most recent meeting was a 0-0 draw at the beginning of 2022 during qualifying for the Qatar World Cup, and Costa Rica will look at this current Mexican side as one that can be beaten.
Mexico lost 1-0 to Qatar in the group stage and have shown vulnerabilities in recent games, but the Ticos are undergoing a generational change and are similarily inconsistent.
Regardless, El Tri will once again enjoy a massively partisan crowd in Texas, and will look to add another victory to their lopsided record against Costa Rica.
