Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium was "unbelieveable," according to Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners went into halftime a goal up and a man down after Leandro Trossard was ejected in first-half stoppage time, setting up a second half in which the visitors hung on for their lives against a relentless City attack that finally broke through just seconds before the final whistle.
And while Arsenal will be disappointed to not have secured all three points after a valiant defensive display, Arteta praised his side for keeping the vaunted Sky Blues attack at bay for all but a single moment in the second half.
"I am so proud of the team," the Arsenal manager told BBC Match of the Day.
"We played the game in a difficult context. Playing against the best team in the world."
However, Arteta was far less effusive about the referee's decision to show Trossard a yellow card for delaying a restart, his second caution of the match.
"After what happened we went 2-1 up - it was a different story and I prefer not to make any comment about that [Trossard's red card]," Arteta said.
"Obviously, it is already a miracle we played 56 minutes at the Etihad with 10 men. It is unbelievable what we have done.
"It is obvious what happened when they made that decision, but it doesn't deserve my comment. I don't want to ruin anything else off the pitch."
