York City win, Solihull Moors lose, Boston euphoric - This weekend's National League round-up on DAZNDAZN

The 2024-25 National League season is live on DAZN around the globe right now, and supporters enjoyed a smorgasbord of action across the weekend.

As Storm Bert wreaked havoc on lower-league schedules, several games were forced off entirely, including clashes for play-off chasers Rochdale and Halifax Town.

But elsewhere, York City reclaimed top spot, Solihull Moors played a seven-goal thriller and Boston United gave their survival hopes a handy shot in the arm.

Here, DAZN looks back at the feature games in the National League this weekend.

Minstermen back on top as Rovers slip up

After Forest Green Rovers handed them a second defeat of the term to vault into first-place, York City restored themselves to the summit with a 4-0 win over Yeovil Town.

With a man advantage for most of the game after Finn Cousin-Dawson was sent off ten minutes in, an Ollie Pearce hat-trick guided the Minstermen to a crucial three points.

Rovers meanwhile slipped up against struggling Southend United, who came from behind twice to share in the spoils and leave matters at the top of the table finely poised.

Moors come off worst in seven-goal classic

Bidding to overhaul Halifax with the latter sidelined by the weather, Solihull could not get over the line against Hartlepool United, who prevailed in a 4-3 non-league classic.

A Joe Grey double for the visitors helped them get over the line as both sides exchanged the lead throughout the game, with the Monkey Hangers ultimately coming out on top.

That means Hartlepool have cut the gap to the play-offs down to four points themselves, with a particularly congested race unfolding ahead of the festive period in mid-table.

Pilgrims boost hopes of journey to survival

At the bottom end of the table, a postponement for Ebbsfleet United gave them an extra weekend to gather their thoughts, but they would not have been helped by Boston United.

The Pilgrims arrived under new boss Graham Coughlan looking to make a difference and duly did so with just their third win of the campaign, a 3-1 victory over Braintree Town.

Cameron Green found the back of the net in the first minute for the hosts and they barely looked back afterwards, closing the gap to four points as they go in search of safety.
