The search continues for the Three Lions.

The search for a new England national team manager is intensifying.

In a job vacancy posted on their official website, The FA are now publicly accepting applications for what is one of the most intense jobs in world football.

One of the main aims for the role listed on the advert is to help the men's team win a major tournament with the FA setting an August 2 deadline for applications to be submitted.

Whoever is successful in being awarded the role will have to better the success of Gareth Southgate who managed to reach two successive European Championship finals during his eight years in charge of the Three Lions.

Since Southgate announced his decision to walk away on Tuesday following a 2-1 defeat to Spain in the final of Euro 2024, a number of high profile names have been linked with the role including Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe and former Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp.

England return to action on September 7 when they face the Republic of Ireland in the opening game of their UEFA Nations League campaign, and The FA have said that there could be a chance an interim coach will take charge for this match if a suitable candidate for the manager role cannot be found.
