Dominik Szoboszlai can become as crucial as Steven Gerrard was for Liverpool, says former Red Jermaine Pennant.
Szoboszlai joined the six-time European champions from RB Leipzig in the summer and has started excellently for Jurgen Klopp's team.
The Hungarian international has made 12 appearances, scoring one goal and notching two assists. He has been pivotal in Liverpool's fast start to the Premier League season.
Speaking with King Casino Bonus, Jermaine Pennant praised Szoboszlai and even suggested he could emulate a Liverpool legend. Pennant said, "'I think Dominik Szoboszlai can become as important to Liverpool as Steven Gerrard, based on what I'm seeing."
Pennant continued, "He came in at the start of the season and looks like he's been there for years. I think we will only get better and more comfortable with the club and the city itself."
At just 23 years old, Szoboszlai has time to improve and should get better the more time he spends in England.
"There'll be no stopping Dominik Szoboszlai once he settles. He'll be a vital player for years to come," Pennant concluded.
