A busy summer kicks off for Panama and Canada as they meet Thursday in Las Vegas in the first semi-final of the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League.
The teams are also set to play in the Concacaf Gold Cup, which kicks off later this month. But before the continental championship gets under way, the small matter of the Nations League must be decided.
Panama have played four times so far in 2023, recording two wins, a draw and a loss. The lone defeat came at the hands of World Cup champions Argentina in a March friendly in Buenos Aires, while the other three matches were against Concacaf competition.
Meanwhile, Canada have only played twice this year, both wins to earn their spot in this semi-final match. The Canadians look to continue their upward trajectory within the region that has seen them make the semi-finals of the Gold Cup in 2021 and top Concacaf's World Cup qualifying tournament in 2022.
