Jurgen Klopp sent shockwaves throughout the footballing world last week when he announced that the current season would be his last as manager of Liverpool.
Klopp has led a resurgence at Anfield during his time in charge, and it will take a lot to replace his larger-than-life presence when he departs this summer.
Before then, the Reds are still active in four competitions, including the Premier League which they lead by two points after 21 matches. A former two-time Premier League winner counts himself as a fan of Klopp's and backs the man who he calls "legendary" to reach one more massive milestone before stepping away from Liverpool.
Speaking to Genting Casino, former Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea defender William Gallas noted the one thing that Klopp can do before he leaves that would further cement his status as an all-time great at Anfield.
"One thing to consider, and I don’t think that this has been spoken of yet, but if Klopp can lift two more trophies this season, then Liverpool will have won more trophies in the club’s history – 69 – than Manchester United’s 68," Gallas said.
"Can you imagine if Klopp knocked Manchester United off their perch, as Sir Alex [Ferguson] famously said? Wow. We all know how big the rivalry is between the two clubs. That would be an incredible achievement and a wonderful way to say goodbye to Liverpool.
"Whatever happens, Klopp will always be a legend. But, if he can win two more trophies and give the club more silverware than Manchester United, he could have a right to be considered THE legend."
