A pair of underperforming sides meet on Wednesday as Paris Saint-Germain host Manchestser City on the penultimate matchday of the Champions League group stage.

PSG are once again leading in Ligue 1, but their continental form has left much to be desired as they enter the match outside of the play-off spots and having won just one of their last five UCL games.

It's a similar story for City, who have regained their dominant domestic form in recent weeks but are only one point above the Parisians in the UCL standings.

Arsenal vs Dinamo Zagreb: What the managers are saying

Luis Enrique, PSG

"It's a very important game, and everyone has to be ready, both the coach and the team. I think that both teams will be trying to deploy their best weapons. With the new Champions League format, no one could have predicted where Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain would stand. We still don't know how many points we'll need to qualify for the next round, but maybe after this round we'll find out."

Pep Guardiola, Manchester City

(via ManCity.com )

“Both teams have two matches. Of course, it’s a really important games for us and PSG. We have another game against Brugge, and I don’t know how many points we need.

“Maybe one victory we will be there. We were punished against Feyenoord. More games in the most difficult moment of the season and we couldn’t handle it.

“It’s new for everyone. It’s a really important game for both of us but we have another game in few days. It’s new for everyone. It’s a really important game for both.

"We need six points maybe four maybe three.  We will see.”

PSG vs. Manchester City: Prediction

Class meets desperation as both sides have plenty of talent at hand and will need to maximize their output over their final two matches, meaning this game could be a high-octane affair. It's hard to pick a winner here, so instead we'll go with a high-scoring draw.

Prediction: PSG 2-2 Manchester City
