The final preparations are underway for John Herdman and Canada.
First up is a friendly against Qatar on Friday. The Qataris are, of course, gearing up to host the upcoming World Cup and have been playing as many international exhibitions as they can. It's been mixed results of late for the side, with the latest match a 3-0 loss for Qatar against the Croatian U-23 team on Tuesday.
The lack of success from the opposition won't matter to the Canadians, who are gearing up for their first game outside of CONCACAF since 2019. Friday's match will actually be Canada's first friendly since 2020, with several recent scheduled exhibitions having been cancelled for one reason or another.
