Richard Dunne believes it will not be long before Jarrad Branthwaite is no longer an Everton player and is starring for one of Europe's biggest names.
The Toffees defender was strongly linked with a move away from Goodison Park over the summer but has remained on Merseyside to help an Everton side that has yet to record a win this season.
Speaking to BetVictor, former defender Dunne has hailed the England centre-back and believes it is only a matter of time before he leaves Everton.
“I think Jarrad Branthwaite will eventually move to one of the biggest clubs in Europe, given his talent," said Dunne.
"While he’s still at Everton he just needs to keep doing what he’s doing and try to be the best player on the pitch and keep helping Everton. He’s a fantastic talent and a player with a really bright future.
“I know the transfer to Manchester United didn’t happen, but I don’t think he regrets staying at Everton at all. If a player really wants to move then they can force it at some stage in the negotiations, but he never seemed to do that and remained professional with how he conducted himself.
"If it turns out at the end of the season that he wants to move on, then he’ll want to look back and think that he left the club in a good place.”
Everton return to Premier League action this weekend as they travel to Villa Park to play Aston Villa on Saturday evening.
