Ricky Hatton has seen some fighters in his day, and the former two-weight world champion boxer believes Sean Dyche is the football manager who would do best in a fight.
Dyche was sacked last week by Everton after two years in charge at Goodison Park, but he could consider a new career inside the ring if his wait to return to the sidelines of a Premier League club is too long.
According to Hatton, the 53-year-old Dyche would make the best boxer out of his contemporaries in the English game, but a couple of others also boast characteristics that Hatton believes could translate well to combat sports.
"Sean Dyche, you wouldn’t like to meet him in a dark alley, would you?" Hatton told Vegas Insider. "He looks no nonsense to be honest.
"Pep Guardiola as well, when he’s bouncing up and down the touchline, he’s a little bit frightening but Sean Dyche probably looks the most menacing. He’s probably the main one if you went to the centre of the ring and on the face offs, Sean Dyche is probably the one who would make your knees knock a bit more than most.
"Wayne Rooney has put a bit of weight on now hasn’t he and I know he done a bit of boxing back in the day so I wouldn’t like to cop one off Wayne either."
