Raheem Sterling will thrive at Arsenal and make the Gunners a stronger rival to Manchester City for the Premier League title, according to Sergio Aguero.
Sterling joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Chelsea just prior to the international break after the 29-year-old fell out of favour at Stamford Bridge. The move sees Sterling join a title contender in Arsenal that finished second behind City in each of the last two seasons.
For Aguero, who starred alongside Sterling at Man City for six seasons, the move makes sense for his old teammate. Sterling joins an Arsenal side managed by Mikel Arteta, who was part of the Man City coaching staff for three years prior to taking the reins in North London.
“I think it's a great signing for Arsenal," Aguero told Stake.com. "Arteta and Raheem know each other very well from their time at City.
"Mikel will surely be able to find a way to let Sterling show his best game. Besides, the team is very well-consolidated, and they've been a tough contender over the last few seasons.
"The team has a deep bench and Raheem comes as a solid reinforcement. They'll come out as a stronger rival for sure.”
