Pep Guardiola is in his last season under his current contract with Manchester City, and speculation about his next move will continue to grow as the end of the campaign gets nearer.
The 53-year-old has had unprecedented success during his spell as manager of the Sky Blues, including six Premier League titles, a pair of FA Cups and the 2022-23 Champions League. Much has been said and written about his coaching methods and ability to succeed at multiple clubs, but for lifelong Manchester City supporter Noel Gallagher, the secret is fairly simple.
"The guy's like a wizard," Gallagher told TNT Sports during a Champions League broadcast on Tuesday. "When he speaks to the players, the players are completely under his spell, and they run through brick walls for him.
"And on top of that, he's a nice guy. He's good looking, you know. He's got it all."
Superstar musician Gallagher says Guardiola "is a good friend" and first met the City boss during his first season in charge at the Etihad Stadium. The Oasis man believes Guardiola's legacy is firmly established, stating that the manager will "get carried out of the stadium on a shield" when he ultimately decides to leave the club.
However, Gallagher pointed to a specific player that best embodies the work that Guardiola has done in his near decade with the club.
"I actually think his biggest legacy will be Phil Foden," Gallagher said. "Because when the entire country was calling for Phil to go out on loan, to go down to the Championship and play, he said, 'No, he's going to stay with me and he's gonna watch David Silva every day,' and look at the kid now, you know, he's phenomenal."
