Nine games in, and there's a familiar look to the Premier League table, with Manchester City sitting on top of the pile.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal or Liverpool have enough to challenge and if, indeed, there's a title race to be had, but there were some positives for both in their 2-2 draw.
Here are the big talking points from Matchday Nine.
The title race is ON
The point-a-piece for Arsenal and Liverpool may not have been what either team wanted, but with neither losing, it at least feels like there could still be a three-horse race for the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners especially couldn’t afford to lose this one and face the prospect of being seven points behind Liverpool – even at this early stage of the season. They would have been disappointed to have lost the lead twice, but given the missing players, it was important to at least not lose ground.
At the same time, Arne Slot can claim to have passed another ‘test’ by not dropping points in his first game against one of the title contenders.
It may not have been a 'classic' encounter between these teams, but the result is an intriguing look at where they are and how seriously we can take their title aspirations.
Patchwork Gunners
As much as it was a positive for Arsenal not to have lost the game, losing another player through injury could have a longer-term impact. Gabriel limped off during the 2-2 draw with Liverpool, leaving Arsenal not only with a makeshift back four for the rest of the game but also worries for the weeks ahead without the Brazilian - especially given they are already missing Riccardo Calafiori.
William Saliba will be back from suspension to bolster the defence, but Martin Odegaard also remains on the sidelines and has been a big loss to Mikel Arteta's team.
Getting through the next few fixtures relatively unscathed without their key names will be target number one for Arsenal.
The title race is OFF
For all the hope that Arsenal and Liverpool are giving the Premier League, there's something ominous about Manchester City already. Pep Guardiola's side haven't even hit top gear yet but are in cruise control at the top of the Premier League and are yet to lose a game.
They may have only put one past Southampton, but they never looked in danger of losing the game, and that's almost been the story of their season so far. Given that they don't usually hit their stride until after Christmas, can anyone actually halt the City winning machine, or are we all living in false hope that there will be a title race this season?
More promoted woes
Saints may have avoided the hiding many expected they'd get at The Etihad, but the three promoted sides are still struggling, with both Southampton and Ipswich still without a win. The Tractor Boys will be feeling particularly sick, having raced into a 2-0 goal lead at Brentford only to eventually lose the game 4-3, meaning they are waiting for that elusive victory.
Meanwhile Leicester, who have managed to pick up wins, fell back to earth with a big derby bump as they lost at home to Nottingham Forest.
It's going to be a tough old season.
Eagles have lift off
One team that finally managed to feel the sweet taste of victory was Crystal Palace, thanks to a 1-0 win over Tottenham.
It's been a strange old season so far for the Eagles who couldn't seem to find the form that saw Oliver Glasner linked with the Bayern Munich post over the summer.
With the talent in the Palace team and the additions they've made, fans will hope the win will now kickstart their campaign and take the heat that was beginning to circle around the boss.
