Club legend doesn't think Spurs boss has been backed.

Former Spurs winger Chris Waddle has criticised Tottenham's summer recruitment.

The North London club bought Dominic Solanke, Archie Gray, and Wilson Odebart in the window, but Waddle isn't convinced that boss Ange Postecoglou has been given enough backing in the market.

Talking exclusively to DAZN, via NewBettingSites.uk, the ex-England man also says the club needs to stop being a selling club if they are to win trophies again.

He said: "After Ange came in, they were great to watch and very enjoyable for a lot of the last season—typical Tottenham philosophy. And I just think the manager—he's not going to say that—has been let down in the transfer market.

"I know it's going to take them two or three years to pay the stadium and the training ground off. It did cost them a fortune, we know that. We saw this with Arsenal many years ago when they got the Emirates. It took them two, three, four years to  get themselves back on track to buying players and being a club.

"They are today challenging for the league. But, you know, people forget with Tottenham, Tottenham's always been a selling club, and this has got to stop some day if you want to win major trophies. They've not won anything for a long time.

"A team like Tottenham, the squad, the facility, everything that goes with Tottenham is first class. But they are still very reluctant to go in that transfer market and identify a top footballer and buy him."
