Harry Kane is England's greatest ever player, according to Wayne Rooney.

The retired Manchester United star has seen his fair share of greats throughout his career, having shared the pitch with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and countless others.

Rooney himself was a prolific forward for both club and country, scoring 208 Premier League goals and tallying another 53 for the Three Lions.

When speaking on The Overlap, brought to you by Sky Bet, Rooney chose fellow forward Kane as the best England's ever seen, pointing to the Bayern Munich man's contributions and reliability as qualities that give him the mantle.

“I think Harry Kane is an incredible player," Rooney said. "The goals he’s scored, the assists and as of the last few years, I would say he’s England’s greatest ever player.

"He’s always professional and he never misses a game, which is a common theme with players like Jude Bellingham, Kane and Phil Foden.”
