Former Arsenal defender William Gallas thinks that Chelsea will sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer.
Osimhen is arguably the best striker in Serie A and has been linked with a move away for the past couple of years.
Speculation has intensified that Paris Saint-Germain are the new front-runners for his signature ahead of the expected departure of Kylian Mbappe, but Chelsea, Liverpool and most top European sides have been linked with him in recent months.
Chelsea only have Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku up front right now, and the future of Armando Broja is unclear after he joined Fulham on loan in January.
Speaking to Genting Casino, Gallas thinks that Osimhen will arrive at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
He said: “I think Chelsea will sign Victor Osimhen in the summer. I don’t know Victor as a person that well but he’s similar to Drogba. Didier was so strong but with Osimhen, he is also very quick. I’m sure he’ll do a lot of damage in the Premier League.
“They didn’t sign anyone in January because there weren’t many world class options available so they’ll continue to play Nicolas Jackson upfront. They didn’t keep Broja and they sent him on loan to give him some minutes.
“Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo can’t play in the positions they are playing now because there's too much pressure on their shoulders and they are too young. They need an experienced midfielder behind them.”
