Argentina head into the 2022 World Cup with the knowledge that this will likely be the last time Lionel Messi will be leading the line.

The 35-year-old superstar finally led his country to international glory at last year's Copa America, giving him one of the final outstanding pieces in a legendary career. Now Messi goes for the biggest title on the planet, knowing that this is his final shot at World Cup glory.

Standing in Argentina's way in Group C are Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland. While the Albiceleste will be favoured to top the group, it'll by no means be seen as a cake walk. The Mexicans will be especially motivated to reach as high as they can in Group C, in order to forge as easy a path through the knockout rounds as possible. Mexico's searching for the elusive fifth game in a World Cup after being eliminated in the round of 16 an astounding seven times in a row.

Poland will be no pushovers either, especially with Robert Lewandowski lining up on the front line. Lewandowski has been one of the most prolific strikers in the world over the past several years, and probably should have won last year's Ballon d'Or. A standout performance in Qatar will go a long way toward rectifying that error.

As for the Saudis, not much is expected of the 51st-ranked team in the world, but that's why the games are played on the field.
