Will this be the year Belgium finally break through?
The Red Devils have been considered among the top teams in the world for a decade now, coinciding with their best generation of players in history, but they've yet to fulfill their promise by winning a major international trophy. Back-to-back quarterfinal exits at the Euros and a third-place finish a the 2018 World Cup (which followed a quarterfinal appearance at Brazil 2014) show that Belgium belong in the conversation, but also-ran status doesn't seem fitting for a team containing Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and other big names.
The Belgians will be considered favourites to top Group F, which also contains Croatia, Morocco and Canada, but that's just the bare minimum expected of Roberto Martinez's men.

Meanwhile, the Croatians are nearing the end of having Luka Modric, Ivan Perisic, Domagoj Vida and a handful of other familiar players leading their side, meaning Qatar 2022 will be a swan song for some of the most successful players in the team's history. That should provide ample motivation to get out of the group and try to match (or better) their second place finish at Russia 2018.
As for Morocco and Canada, low expectations could result in some surprises for the two lowest-ranked sides in Group F. Both teams boast game-changing players among their ranks, and a well-executed game plan could lead to some interesting results.
