Emmanuel Petit predicts that the 2024-25 season will be the last for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Guardiola took the reins at the Etihad Stadium in 2016 and has since led the club to every trophy on offer, including six Premier League titles during that span. It's been a period of unprecedented success for the Manchester club but with Guardiola's contract expiring at the end of the upcoming campaign, Petit believes the legendary manager will "walk away" from the job next summer.

Petit, who won the Premier League, European Championship and World Cup as a player, also points to the FFP charges looming over the club as a possible catalyst for Guardiola to leave Manchester City following the season.

"Guardiola has proven so much as a manager," Petit told Gambling Zone. "He cannot do something better with Manchester City - there is not improvement because he has won everything.

"With all the troubles that City are facing, you never know what will happen. Maybe after nine years, this will be Pep’s final season in charge, and he will walk away from the club. You could understand if he decided to do that because he has nothing left to prove and nothing more to win."
