Tennis great Rafael Nadal has announced his set to retire from the sport at the end of the 2024 season.

The 22-time Grand Slam winner will represent Spain in his career finale at next month's Davis Cup Finals in Malaga, but will also compete in the Six Kings Slam Tournament - which you can see live on DAZN - in one of his final tournaments before calling it a day.

The 38-year-old said in a video message on Thursday: "I am here to let you know I am retiring from professional tennis.

"The reality is that it has been some difficult years, the last two especially.

"I don't think I have been able to play without limitations."

Nadal is the second most successful tennis player of all time (behind Novak Djokovic), winning 22 Grand Slams, including a record 14 titles at the French Open.

What is the Six Kings Slam Tournament?

The Six Kings Slam is an exhibition tennis tournament held across three days and featuring six big-name players.

As it's a non-ATP-sanctioned event, players will not earn any ranking points. Each of the six participants is guaranteed a minimum prize of $1,500,000 USD, with the winner will taking home the largest prize in tennis history, $6,000,000 USD - almost double the prize money for a Grand Slam champion
