In the final match of his legendary career, Sting gave fans some ultimate fireworks and moments to remember.
Sting and partner Darby Allin defeated The Young Bucks to retain their Tag-Team Championship in a special Tornado Tag Match in the main event of AEW Revolution 2024 from Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina on Sunday night.
The pay-per-view main event ended when the wrestling icon made Matthew Jackson tap out to the Scorpion Deathlock in a photo finish.
However, Sting's and Allin's victory came after both endured plenty of pain along the way as the retiring wrestling legend was suplexed off the stage and through a table, put through a separate table in the ring and tossed through a pane of glass.
Allin had it worse as his moonsault attempt off the ladder came up empty as he crashed through a pane of glass with his back split open and bleeding profusely.
But regardless of whatever punishment The Young Bucks put him through, Sting kept fighting back and his late surge as well as opening moments, when he blasted them with Stinger Splashes all around, helped put his team over the top in a memorable night that had him joined by the likes of Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat.
Sting ended his night and career by thanking the fans as they returned the sentiment, showering the legend with chants of "You still got it!"
Aside from Sting's final match, AEW Revolution 2024 also had Samoa Joe taking advantage of "Hangman" Adam Page and Swerve Strickland's beef to successfully retain his AEW world title in a Triple Threat match and Toni Storm defeating Deonna Purrazzo to remain AEW women's world champion.
