CM Punk returns to action this weekend when he clashes with Drew McIntyre with special guest referee Seth "Freakin" Rollins at WWE SummerSlam 2024.
In preparing for the highly-anticipated match, Punk took the time out to speak with ESPN's "First Take" on Tuesday morning and in doing so, rattled off his Top 5 favorite wrestlers of all time.
Before he mentioned the names on his list, Punk made sure to preface that "my Top 5 wrestlers of all time is going to be real, real out there."
"This is my Top 5," he added. "It's not cultural significance, it's not impact, but a lot of that is honestly factored in because I think ...
"Harley Race, Terry Funk, I think Steve Austin is the biggest Superstar that this industry has ever seen, I would say Eddie Guerrero."
After pausing for a moment to think it through, Punk tacked on the final name: "Ricky Steamboat."
But as the wrestling sensation had time to let his list marinate, he suddenly expressed a change of heart.
"Oh, Jesus," Punk amended. "Let's scratch off Steamboat. Sorry, Steamer, I love you. Roddy Piper. This is the problem with these Top 5 lists.
"Why I got into wrestling is Roddy Piper. I saw him as this undersized guy that was surrounded by all these hulks and he just talked trash and I was like 'I would like to do that. That looks like something I can do.'"
