Cody Rhodes may be on top of the world right now as the face of WWE and the new Undisputed champion, but the American Nightmare has confessed how great he would have been in a different guise in the company.
Rhodes beat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania earlier this month to end Reigns' three-year reign with the Undisputed Championship, but the 38-year-old admits that he would love to have worked with the man who stood alongside his opponent, Paul Heyman.
Over the years, names such as Brock Lesnar, CM Punk and Reigns have been considered 'Paul Heyman Guys' and Rhodes believes he would have also shined in that role.
“In another lifetime, I probably would have made the best Paul Heyman Guy," Rhodes said on the SI Media Podcast.
"I probably could have been his absolute Ace. It just didn't work out that way. It worked out that I was the adversary for his number one guy, Roman Reigns.
"There is part of me that looks at that, even with the questionable decisions that Mr. Heyman makes, part of me looks at that and goes, 'that might have been fun. That might have been a good car to be in.'”
