AEW star's next battle is with the world's biggest mountain.

AEW star Darby Allin has faced plenty of huge battles inside the ring but is about to embark on an even bigger battle outside of it when he attempts to climb Mount Everest later this year.

Allin is known for being one of AEW's riskiest superstars, but nothing will be as risky as doing something that no wrestler has ever done by climbing the world's tallest mountain.

During an exclusive interview with DAZN's Tom Scarborough, the man who's set to tag with Sting in the wrestling legend's final match at AEW Revolution next month spoke about trying to balance his day job with the training for his excursion up Everest.

"It's so hard. I don't think anyone truly understands how hard that is. Balancing the wrestling schedule with training for Mount Everest," Allin said.

"It was around last Spring I had the idea, and then in the summer, I acted on it. I hit up this company called Adventure Consultants, which is the premier Mount Everest climbing group, and I said, 'Hey, I'm a professional wrestler, and I'd love to climb Mount Everest'.

"So, they were like, 'Ok, but you have to do every single thing from our training programme; we're not just going to put you up there because you'd be a liability. The fact that you have zero climbing experience and you want to climb Mount Everest in six months is kind of unheard of - especially with what you do in the ring' because they were aware of what I do."

Allin goes on to reveal that he headed to his first training session having injured his shoulder during a match, and had to try and hide his discomfort for the programme.

"I had a match with Christian and I got slammed across the steel steps and I thought I broke my shoulder. A week later, I had to fly in for training. I didn't tell anyone about my shoulder, and I couldn't lift it. This was the first training session, and I was like, 'What are we doing?' and they said rock climbing. I was like, 'Oh no,' but I still did it.

"I haven't slowed down, I'm not trying to play it safe because AEW is still my top priority. I'm not just going to phone it in to go and climb Mount Everest, I'm going to give everything to AEW and give everything to Mount Everest."
