FTR says respect for Young Bucks will 'go out the window' at AEW All InDAZN

A lot will be on the line when FTR and the Young Bucks meet on Aug. 27.

Not only will FTR's AEW World Tag Team titles be contested at All In, but the match will take place in front of a record-setting crowd at Wembley Stadium. Additionally, the match will be the third between the two teams, with each having claimed a victory from their previous two meetings.

With both teams still at the top of their game, it's unsurprising that there would be a heightened level of respect between them. When speaking to DAZN's Steven Muehlhausen, FTR's Cash Wheeler said he holds the Young Bucks in high esteem.

"They carried tag team wrestling for quite a while when we were on the main roster in the WWE and not doing anything," Wheeler said. "So I have a lot of respect to them for being true to themselves and maybe even creating a style of wrestling that you see today that a lot of the younger generation tried to recreate and copy.

"I don't know if they have respect for us. I would hope so. And I hope they have respect for our talents and above that, us as human beings."

Getting in the ring together and creating matches that are talked about for years requires at least a little bit of respect between competitors, so while Wheeler says he hasn't heard anything explicitly from the Young Bucks about how they feel in regards to FTR, the sentiment is implied.

"I won't speak for Matt and Nick, but I would think they they respect us," Wheeler said. "I know that I respect what they've accomplished."

Despite the talk about mutual respect, the fact that both teams are fighting for the top spot means that the competitive spirit takes precedence at times. Wheeler compared his team and the Young Bucks to a pair of legendary NFL stars who put aside their admiration during their respective careers.

"Again, there's going to be underlying tension because I mean, we want to be the best," Wheeler explained. "They want to be the best and I don't think, especially at the height of their careers, that you would see Tom Brady and Peyton Manning being best best buds, just because they're competing for the same thing.

"So I respect everything they've done. I respect their accomplishments. I respect their contributions to the wrestling business.

"But again, we also have differing opinions on what we do in wrestling, but that doesn't take away from how I feel about what they've accomplished.

"I do respect them. I hope they respect us, but at the end of the day, we want to be the best, so when it comes to Wembley, when it comes to the AEW tag team titles, respect's gonna have to go out the window a little bit."
