CM Punk has reportedly made a pitch to be the fifth member of the Blackpool Combat Club when the faction faces The Elite at Blood and Guts on July 19.
Since returning to AEW in June, Punk has largely been exclusive to Collision and has not had any interaction with The Elite, the group he sensationally fell out with last September.
Since resuming his career with Tony Khan’s company earlier this year, Punk’s focus has been on the Owen Hart tournament.
With a win over Samoa Joe on the most recent Saturday edition, Punk will now face Ricky Starks in next week’s final, but will his focus move to Blood and Guts after that? Apparently not.
First reported by Voices of Wrestling, Punk suggested that he join the match assisting Bryan Danielson’s group, but the mystery partners for both teams are seemingly set.
It appears inevitable that Punk one day will feud with The Elite in storyline mode, but that time doesn’t look like it will be Blood and Guts.
