MJF's run as champion has been eventful

MJF looks set to become the longest reigning AEW champion of all time now his next match has been confirmed.

On the October 4 episode Dynamite, it was confirmed that MJF will headline Full Gear next month when he defends his strap against Jay White.

This means that the popular New Yorker will overtake Kenny Omega’s incredible 346-day reign.

MJF first won the title at last year’s Full Gear when outside interference from William Regal allowed him to dethrone Jon Moxley.

Since winning the crown, MJF has competed in numerous top-level matches and has defeated outstanding challengers including Bryan Danielson and his current tag team partner, Adam Cole.

Currently on 320 days as champion, MJF going through to Full Gear on November 18 will easily take him past Omega’s mark.

With the champion set to start his bout against White a huge favourite, it appears that MJF’s reign may still have plenty to offer.
