His announcement were among the shocking moments.

WWE Money in the Bank 2024 came and went Saturday night but not without producing its fair share of surprising moments.

Here, DAZN takes a look at a few of those shockers from the latest installment of the annual event.

John Cena, one of the most decorated Superstars in WWE history, used WWE Money in the Bank 2024 in Toronto, Canada on Saturday night to announce that 2025 will be his last year of in-ring competition.

During the post-MITB press conference, Cena added some additional clarity by saying WrestleMania 41 will be his final WrestleMania and he's aiming for around 40 total dates ranging from January through December.

Drew McIntyre immediately cashes in on Money in the Bank contract

After winning the Money in the Bank 2024 contract earlier in the card, Drew McIntyre didn't waste time seizing the opportunity.

In fact, he chose the World Heavyweight Championship match between Damian Priest and Seth Rollins later in the night as the moment to officially cash in on the contract.

Which brings us to the next surprising moment ...

CM Punk runs in

By now CM Punk costing McIntyre the Heavyweight Championship isn't anything new.

After all, he paved the way for Priest to become champion at WrestleMania 40 by interfering, sabotaging McIntyre and his newly-won title.

During Money in the Bank, Punk struck again. If there's any surprise though, it's how he managed to pull it off this time — sneak-attacking McIntyre from behind and taking the title upside "The Chosen One's" head.

That interference assisted Priest in once again defeating McIntyre as Punk was able to intensify his heat with "The Scottish Warrior."

In addition, Punk cost Seth Rollins the title in the process, drawing the latter's ire as well.
