Ronda Rousey had made her intentions clear of someday wanting to become a mother.
It's now a reality as the former UFC women's bantamweight and former WWE RAW champion revealed in a video on Wednesday that she's pregnant with her first child with her husband, former UFC heavyweight Travis Browne. Rousey is due on Sept. 22.
"How do I put this?" Rousey said before removing a pillow from her baby bump. "Pow! Four months pregnant. Oh, what? You didn't even know. The last four months. Woo. I've been pregnant since January, so woo, baby bump. I can't hide it anymore, so it's time to show it off."
The video shows the sequence of events that led to Rousey finding out she was having a baby. Rousey thanked her fans for the congratulations. Neither the gender nor name were revealed, but there were hints of a possible announcement.
"We're all really excited to meet (the baby), just like we are," Rousey said. "… Baddest baby on the planet coming to you soon."
Rousey last competed in the UFC in December 2016 at UFC 207 when she got knocked out by current women's bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes for her second consecutive loss via KO. That would be the last time Rousey fought inside the Octagon as she announced her retirement shortly thereafter and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in July 2018. Rousey debuted in WWE in January 2018 and last wrestled at WrestleMania 35 in April 2019, losing her belt to Becky Lynch in a triple threat match. She continued her acting career, recently appearing as a recurring character on FOX's "9-1-1".
