What surprise entrants could we see in the women's 2025 WWE Royal Rumble?DAZN

This Saturday night, the road to WrestleMania truly begins as WWE presents the annual Royal Rumble event from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Thirty women will enter the over-the-top-rope battle royal to try and earn their shot at a championship match on WWE's grandest stage in April.

Yet, the Rumble isn't always about the winner, it's seeing just who enters the match when the countdown ends.

So, here are some possible surprise entrants we could see in the women's 2025 Royal Rumble.

The return from injury...

We already have Charlotte Flair making her return to WWE TV for the first time in over a year at this year's Rumble, but there's strong speculation we'll also see a comeback for her old nemesis. Becky Lynch left WWE in June with her contract up, but the intention was always for WWE and 'The Man' to renew, and it wouldn't be WrestleMania without the Irish star.

Alexa Bliss was also heavily fancied to make her reappearance after her long hiatus, but those plans may have been shelved as she negotiates a new deal with the company. Asuka is another name in the frame, who we could see.

The TNA star...

TNA's recent hook-up with NXT comes just in time for the Royal Rumble, and it surely means we'll get some talent crossover to make an appearance in the Rumble match. Jordynne Grace is now done with TNA, but given she's already appeared multiple times in WWE, she has to be a favourite to pop up on Saturday.

Then there's current Knockouts champion  Masha Slamovich , who's already dealing with a Cora Jade problem from NXT, and she could also be in Indianapolis this weekend. Or could we see a WWE return for Gail Kim or Dana Brooke during the match?

The NXT Superstar...

The NXT's women's division is arguably the best crop of female talent across all three brands, and the rumble is always the perfect opportunity to showcase the next talent in line for a call-up. Roxanne Perez is the obvious one, especially given her recent dealings with Bayley, but it wouldn't be a shock to see current women's champ Giulia also appear.

Don't rule out the names of Stephanie Vaquer, Cora Jade and Sol Ruca, too.

The blast from the past...

The women's rumble has a long history of bringing back some familiar faces, but the one name that fans long for more than anyone else is AJ Lee. Ever since her husband, CM Punk, made his dramatic return to WWE, there's been a massive clamour to see Lee also back in the squared circle - could this finally be the time?

There's also strong speculation that we may see Nikki Bella kick off a new run with the company after seeing her ovation on the Netflix Raw debut. Those two names trump everyone else in the 'legends' field.

Your random entrant...

Michelle McCool seems to have moved on from the 'former star returning' to randomly appearing in every Rumble. However, if it leads to a Laycool reunion with Layla, then fans will be all for it.
