Drew McIntyre has fulfilled a prophecy — winning the Money in the Bank.
McIntyre outlasted the likes of Jey Uso, Andrade, Chad Gable, Carmelo Hayes and LA Knight to win the Money in the Bank 2024 contract at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada on Saturday night.
"The Chosen One" presented himself at the opportune moment to capture the briefcase as the rest of his competition did major damage to each other.
First Andrade wiped out Hayes — not to mention, himself — by performing a devastating sunset flip powerbomb from one ladder through another ladder.
From there, Gable tossed Knight over his head with a standing belly-to-belly suplex through a ladder on the outside of the ring. Gable scaled the ladder and was ultra close to grabbing the contract before Uso removed the ladder from under his legs, leaving Gable dangling from the carabiner holding the briefcase before free-falling onto the canvas.
Uso had the briefcase in plain sight and came within seconds of seizing it before McIntyre threw a ladder at him like a javelin and nailed him with a Claymore Kick. McIntyre then climbed up the ladder to win the contract, now having the chance to cash in on a championship shot when he desires.
