WWE will roll back the clock next month by hosting the first Bad Blood event in twenty years as part of their next Premium Live Event offering.
The landscape of the company in 2024 is very different to the previous Bad Blood main event, when Triple H - now the man in creative control - took on Shawn Michaels in a Hell in a Cell, but the event could see the culmination of several different storylines as WWE head into the winter and the first signs of what we may see at next year's WrestleMania.
Here are five possible bouts that could take place in Atlanta on October 5th.
CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre
The safest bet of any match, Bad Blood is set to see the final chapter in WWE's most heated rivalry. With McIntyre getting the victory over Punk at SummerSlam and then Punk returning the favour last weekend by winning their strap match in Berlin, the feud, which has dominated WWE TV throughout 2024, should finally reach its conclusion with a deciding showdown. Given the deeply personal theme to their story, it seems likely that the ending could only come inside the confines of a Hell in a Cell match, too.
Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor
Priest still hasn't gotten his revenge on Balor for costing him his world heavyweight championship at SummerSlam, and Bad Blood seems to be the perfect platform for these former Judgement Day stablemates to settle their scores. There's been a brief distraction for the former champ, as he's helped out Rhea Ripley in her war with Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan, but the time has surely now come for Priest to finally get his hands on the Irishman.
Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan
Talking of The Judgement Day, the biggest story on RAW right now is the heated 'love' triangle between Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan and the dastardly Dominik Mysterio. After Morgan pretty much took everything from Ripley - including her women's world title - the Australian has begun to exact her retribution on the pair by pinning Morgan to win their mixed tag match at Bash in Berlin. Now Ripley wants her title back and it could see a gimmick-laden match added to the Bad Blood card between the two women.
Gunther vs. Sami Zayn
Many didn't see this coming after Gunther defeated Randy Orton in Berlin, but it makes perfect sense, given their history. Zayn was the man who finally ended the Austrian's record-breaking Intercontinental title run at this year's WrestleMania, and now he wants to do it all over again for an even bigger prize. Zayn is a legitimate contender, but probably has a bigger storyline on the horizon as The Bloodline's civil war heats up ahead of Survivor Series.
Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa
Friday's SmackDown will give us a good indication of whether or not we're heading for a rematch between the undisputed WWE champion and the self-entitled Tribal Chief, but it's hard to see an alternative viable opponent for the champion at this stage. A rerun of their SummerSlam outing would once again open the door for a Roman Reigns appearance as the eventual showdown of the original Bloodline and new Bloodline gets closer.
