Is Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder the biggest fight in boxing?DAZN

The DAZN Boxing Show discussed whether Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder would be the biggest fight in the heavyweight division.

Joshua will fight Dillian Whyte on DAZN and DAZN PPV on August 12, with Joshua looking to build towards a rumoured fight with Wilder in December at the end of the year.

The same card is believed to feature a potential undisputed clash with Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk, and Akin Reyes asked which would be the bigger.

He said: “Can we say that Joshua vs. Wilder is the biggest fight in the heavyweight division, even bigger than Fury vs. Usyk?”

Barak Bess explained why he saw the Joshua vs. Wilder fight as the most attractive for fans.

He said: “I believe that both of them transcend the sport, yes, I do believe that. It’s about popularity, we saw Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis do big numbers because they’re popular, and then the biggest fight to boxing fights to boxing fans is Spence vs. Crawford, which may not do as big numbers.

“This is the fight that has the attention of every boxing fan so it has the potential to do numbers that other fighters do, like [Floyd] Mayweather did.”
