WrestleMania 38 concluded on Sunday evening from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The second night of WrestleMania 38 featured the highly anticipated main event between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar was built as the "Biggest WrestleMania Match of All-Time," with the winner becoming the undisputed WWE champion.
While the match had a big fight feel, it came off flat as Reigns pinned Lesnar in an anti-climatic finish to merge the WWE and Universal Heavyweight titles and has now been on top for 582 consecutive days.
Reigns vs. Lesnar was a hard-hitting affair, with each guy bringing out the heavy artillery. The punches were stiff, and the moves were crisp. They kicked out of each other's finishers (Reigns' Spear and Lesnar's The F5). However, the complexion changed when Reigns speared Lesnar into the referee.
Reigns delivered a low blow and hit Lesnar with a title belt. He got the referee's attention only to get a two-count, much to the chagrin of Reigns.
The former college football player hit another spear to the former UFC Heavyweight Champion's ribs. He went for one final spear, but Lesnar locked in a kimura. Lesnar had it in deep and had Reigns on the verge of tapping out. Reigns' Special Counsel Paul Heyman pushed the rope closer to Reigns, who was able to grab it, and Lesnar was forced to release the hold.
Lesnar was looking for one more F5 to put Reigns away, but "The Tribal Chief" hit one final spear for the pin to become the undisputed champion.
Having Reigns win is the right move since he competes on a full-time basis. But WWE has to have someone beat Reigns at some point. He's squashing everyone who comes in his path, and him continuously winning is getting redundant.
Who is going to be that person?
Lesnar? The returning Cody Rhodes? Reigns' cousin Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson?
