Zurdo Ramirez plans fight with world champion after Dmitry Bivol clash

Zurdo Ramirez plans fight with world champion after Dmitry Bivol clashDAZN

Zurdo Ramirez plans to beat Dmitry Bivol on November 5 before moving on to becoming undisputed at light heavyweight.

The Mexican will take on the current WBA champion - just one of two men to have beaten Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez over the course of the undisputed super middleweight champion’s career - on November 5 live on DAZN (check for regions).

Ramirez and Bivol will fight at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, and it will be in the Middle East where Bivol hopes for revenge.

“I know Canelo, we used to train together,” Ramirez explained, reported BoxingScene.com. “We are friends. I haven’t spoken to him about Bivol, we lost our connection and have taken our own paths.”

However, he would still be more than happy to fight Canelo himself later.

“Of course,” Ramirez said. “Because I want to fight with the best fighters in the world and in the sport and he’s one of the best.”

If he wins next month, he is looking to unified 175lb champion Beterbiev next.

“Yes, that’s a fight I want,” he confirmed. “I want to give great fights to the fans and eventually I want to move up, because I’m bigger and tall.

“Who knows? I sparred heavyweights before. Sometimes they have been taller than me, sometimes shorter than me, but they’re big. [Michael] Hunter…. That was good. That’s what made me say maybe I can do it, eventually.”
